Green Charity?

Can you go green and help charity at the same time?

There are many green charities out there. Here are just a few ways to help charity and be green at the same time.

Cell Phones for Soldiers is a great program that takes your old cell phones and sells them to a company that will refurbish them. The money acquired is used to give prepaid calling cards to soldiers so they can keep in touch with their family.

Invest in America’s Veterans Foundation is a relatively new charity that can use all types of donations, from cash to office furniture and computers to give our veterans an easier way of life. They are currently planning an assisted living facility for our veterans.

Destiny Diaper Bank takes gently used children’s items and passes them on to needy families. This keeps all of that stuff out of the landfills and in the homes of loving families.

Second Act Thrift Stores take your donations and sell them in order to provide services for victims of domestic violence and their children as well as survivors of sexual assault in Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties.

Goodwill will take your donations including working but dated computers and sell them to provide job training and placement assistance.

JetScape takes empty/used ink and toner cartridges and donates the cash value of cartridges to Barbara’s Friends – the Children’s Hospital of SW Florida Cancer Fund.

In an effort to become more involved in community service, JetScape  encourages schools, churches, and charitable organizations to collect empty ink and toner cartridges as fund raising programs.

Contact JetScape for information regarding putting together a similar program for something you believe in.
